Seating and planters ensure relaxed atmosphere for students

Seating and planters ensure relaxed atmosphere for students

Furnitubes have supplied several seating and planter products for the University of Greenwich School of Design Building, designed by Heneghan Peng Architects.

The landscaped roof has 14 terraces and gardens used as a space for students to relax, as well as planting areas used for research.

In the courtyard eight Uniun modules (3 benches and 5 planters) were supplied with its characteristic trapezoidal geometry.

Furnitubes RailRoad bench was included on one of the roof terraces, allowing the opportunity to sit down and enjoy surroundings.

The combined bench with a planter weighs several hundred kilos when filled with soil and planted. It allowed the products to be simply placed as a freestanding assembly, avoiding the need for any bolt-down fixings which can be problematic on flat roofs.
