A sectional garage door is made up of several horizontal panels (sections) that are hinged together. These doors open vertically and slide along tracks that curve and run parallel to the ceiling when fully opened.
Unlike the Up & Over doors, a Sectional “door” does not swing outwards, therefore you can use every last centimetre of the space in front of the garage, for example to park your car, as this door type assists to maximise your driveway space. As the sections are pushed under the ceiling to save space, there is also more room in the garage - ideal for tall vehicles such as off-road vehicles or vans.
With a Sectional door with an electric operator, you always have the full clearance height at your disposal. When replacing an Up & Over door with a Sectional door, the passage is even wider, as the sectional garage door can be installed behind to maximise width. The use of the Novoport Speed, side mounted operator also assists with not taking up additional ceiling space.
