Sturdy Materials
A secure external post box should be made from strong, weather resistant materials. Post Boxes UK’s mailboxes are manufactured using high grade, European standard aluminium, steel or stainless-steel. Casing, doors and structure must be impervious to vandalism and attempts of opportunist theft.

Secure Locks
Making sure secure letterboxes are fitted with high quality locks is absolutely vital. The mailboxes are all fitted with reliable industry approved locks. For extra security, certain models are fitted with a BS:EN1303 lock; a superior anti-theft lock to security class 6 with over 5 million usable differs.

Design Features
Post Boxes UK prioritize design features that minimise vulnerability to theft. ‘Fishing’ for mail through letterbox apertures is unfortunately commonplace. To counter this, PBUK fit anti-theft baffles; a un-bendable steel lip fitted to the inside of the opening, making it virtually impossible for thieves to use their hands to ‘fish’ for mail. Another excellent way to prevent this type of crime is to opt for a larger capacity post box. The resulting height will make it much more difficult to retrieve post that has fallen to the bottom. A reduced aperture height is also a worthwhile consideration.

A Secure Wall Mounted Post Box
Professional installation is very important. A secure external post box should be correctly fitted, in line with your builder or joiner’s recommendation. The secure mailboxes can be wall mounted, recessed or free-standing. PBUK also advise you to think about where you will be putting your post box. High visibility and frequent footfall will help deter would-be thieves.
