Leaderflush Shapland believes that effective supply chain management both from the way they manage their supply chain and from how they are managed as part of the larger supply chain - is crucial to the process of safeguarding our environment. This philosophy helps both supplier and customer to achieve best practice and develop long-term, strong environmental, ethical and economic relationships.
Leaderflush Shapland has embarked on a second year of the Achilles Building Confidence scheme. The Building Confidence accreditation programme has been developed by Bovis Lend Lease in partnership with Achilles Information Ltd. to encourage other construction industry clients and major contractors to create deeper and more sustainable supply relationships in the future, ensure work is only awarded to the highest performing and most suitable contractors and reduce costs and duplication of effort in providing information to multiple customers.
To achieve the accreditation Leaderflush Shapland undertook and successfully passed a two-day audit which focused on health and safety, environment and quality issues. The audit also covered social and ethical behaviour that supports corporate social responsibility related requirements.
The programme has been designed to benefit the entire supply chain and aims to enable major contractors and clients in the construction industry to improve supply chain performance, get to know their key contractors and suppliers better, demonstrate corporate social responsibility in the supply chain and conform with CDM (the Construction Design and Management Regulations) and other compliance issues.
