R W Simon have completed the installation of three different style of its solar shading systems to the recently opened Taf Ely Learning Centre in Nantgawr South Wales.

The south face of building has 225 Simon 150mm elliptical blade cassettes installed over the first and second floors in addition to the 8 metre vertical blades.

The ground floor has a bespoke 690mm blade fitted into galvanised steel supports all designed as part of installation package Simon undertook for Laing O'Rourke. Simon also worked with the Kawneer fabricator along with Wintec to design the bespoke curtain wall bracketry.

In addition to the brise soleil, R W Simon also provided the background trickle ventilation to north face of the building using our TTF slimline aluminium slot vent.
