Skyline Copings are a robust, elegant, and maintenance-free solution for protecting and finishing parapet walls. Popular with architects, specifiers and building owners for their sleek contemporary lines, Skyline Copings deliver stunning aesthetics with endless architectural possibilities for any flat or pitched roof. They are available with a flat profile, or sloping to direct rainwater back onto the roof; and a wide choice of standard solutions is available, with bespoke variable coping designs available to order.

Design and Functionality Combined

The impressive visuals of Skyline Coping systems are matched only by their performance record. Whilst every joint is mitred, welded and finished to the highest standard, the system features a secure, weatherproof and non-penetrative fixing method, using a unique strap-fixing mechanism that avoids breaching the coping surface. This allows continuous ventilation over the parapet while preventing water ingress, to ensure the most efficient futureproofing of the roof and building façade.

Fabricated in the UK from 2mm or 3mm aluminium alloy sheet, the components are lightweight, non-corrodible and highly durable, with a life expectancy of up to 40 years in rural or suburban environments and up to 25 years in marine or industrial areas. Independently tested to withstand wind loads up to 6kPa (equivalent to 220mph), Skyline Copings provide exceptional rigidity and strength, even in exposed locations. The design also accommodates a 3–4mm thermal expansion gap, to maintain the system’s integrity in fluctuating temperatures.

The system can be manufactured to suit a comprehensive range of standard parapet widths, with common sizes stocked and ready for powder coating with up to a 5-working-day lead time. Alumasc’s in-house BBA-approved polyester powder coating facility ensures quality and colour consistency, with 27 factory-applied standard finishes, and any BS or RAL colour available on request.

Installation is straightforward and efficient. In most cases, the system can be fixed entirely from the roof, reducing the need for scaffolding or external access; a particular advantage for refurbishment and retrofit projects.
