Solar panels to save 43 tonnes of carbon for local manufacturer Mumford & Wood

As a local timber window and door manufacturer, Mumford & Wood rely on natural materials for their products, and so understand the importance of being environmentally responsible.

Having already gained Carbon Neutral Organisation status in 2022 they have been looking at further ways to give back to the environment and have now installed 423 solar panel units to their Essex factory roof.

Simon Pentney, Director at Mumford & Wood explains:
‘Using state of the art technology to create our products, we are heavily reliant on electricity to power our factory. Having already made some significant changes in 2022 that include; switching to an electric/hybrid sales fleet, investment in global and local tree planting, installing a voltage optimiser and new recycling schemes, we knew we still wanted to do more. These solar panels will generate nearly 190,000 kwh of clean electricity and save 43 tonnes of carbon every year, an achievement we are incredibly proud of.’

Mumford & Wood won’t be stopping there, and plan to be Carbon Neutral Plus within the next 7 years.
