Somerset House Refurbishment

Somerset House Refurbishment

IQ Glass has recently completed a number of interesting glass packages at Somerset House in Central London.

The scheme included various glass elements and of special note were the lightwell infills which were installed to maintain maximum light transmittance down through the building from the rooflights whilst acting as an acoustic barrier to the noisy public spaces below.

The structural glass floor was installed over original Saxon artifacts assembled from the site. There is a light anti-slip screenprint pattern across the glass and it's only supported in one direction.
