Full height Titan washroom cubicles offer total privacy thanks to just a 10mm floor clearance.
The project
South Hunsley Secondary School in Melton, North Ferriby promises its students "support, care, encouragement and respect" during their school and sixth form experience.
The school's previous washrooms were out of date and an eyesore for students, resulting in several complaints being received over the years. They were hard for staff to monitor and supervise, so as a result needed to be updated and given a new lease of life.
The challenge
Venesta were specified by the Architects working on the renovation of South Hunsley’s washrooms, thanks to the highly regarded quality and robustness of their product offering.
The school’s brief was to have aesthetically pleasing, timelessly designed cubicles and surrounding facilities. South Hunsley Secondary School required there to be a unisex option within their washrooms, which was delivered, and also for staff to have the ability to easily supervise the space. Student privacy was also paramount, which had to be considered when specifying.
The solution
The full height Titan washroom cubicles, chosen by South Hunsley Secondary School, offer total privacy thanks to just a 10mm floor clearance. Titan was designed with innovation in mind, as unique aluminium shoes are fitted to pilasters for extra rigidity, as well as partitions that have rigid wall channels to give ultimate strength.
Titan’s concealed fittings, including pedestals and headrail, help to reduce the likelihood and severity of any potential vandalism in the washrooms. Titan’s hardware is designed to stand the test of time, making this cubicle range the perfect solution for busy, high footfall environments.
SGL (Solid Grade Laminate) was an excellent choice for South Hunsley’s Titan cubicles as it’s extremely resistant to impact, while being impervious to water.
In addition to the school’s toilet cubicle requirements, they also installed aluminium coat hooks for the student’s convenience, as well as outward opening door packs to accommodate all students and to maximise space.
Staff and students have both been delighted with the outcome of the washroom renovation and plenty of positive feedback has been received. Jennifer Jewitt, Finance Director, told us how she “hopes that the students will now take ownership and really look after the new washrooms.” What’s more, the washrooms are now a much more open space, making it easier than ever for staff to supervise and oversee the areas.
