Spilka Industri, Europes leading manufacturer of high quality reversible window hinges and originators of the H window, is now supplying their Opus range of window hinges for alu clad timber windows to Heron Joinery, a member of the Heron Group of Companies, based in Draperstown Northern Ireland. Opus hinges are made in Norway from high quality materials, ensuring low-maintenance long-lasting performance
Spilkas Opus range of fully reversible hinges needs only 6 modules to produce a range of windows up to 1588mm high and 2488mm wide, greatly reducing stockholding for window producers. A maximum sash weight of 55kg allows for the production of large sashes double or triple glazed. This means the manufacturer can produce the highest performance fully reversible windows meeting the latest thermal and security requirements.
Child locks are standard enabling British construction companies to meet Secured by Design and Building Regulations. Initial opening is restricted to a maximum of 80mm and re engages when the sash reverses 180 degrees to allow the outside of the pane to be cleaned from inside the building. Outward opening windows have a weather performance advantage as the sash is made tighter against the weather gasket in the frame by increased wind pressure.
