St James’ Hospital, Leeds

Client: St James’ Hospital
Type of works: a range of products were installed at the St James’ Hospital new 66,000m2 oncology unit.

A project of this scale required detailed project management from Astralux’s dealer. All bed spaces needed a proven cubicle track system and windows needed shading with a durable and simple blind system.

Consequently over 2,500m of the Silent Gliss 6100 cubicle track system was supplied and installed using hanger rods, secured to the slab for a solid fix. All curtains were supplied with BioCote finish to help with infection control and spare curtains were also supplied to assist with regular cleaning.

Solar- and glare-control was achieved through the installation of over 500 vertical blinds with mono-control operation and, to ensure light exclusion in sensitive areas, 30 framed dim-out blinds were also installed.

To complete this installation nearly 900m of the Silent Gliss 1200 hand-drawn curtain track system was fitted to window areas.
