St Marylebone C of E School for Girls, London

Architects: Gumuchdjian Architects
Type of works: Junckers pre-finished 22mm beech SylvaSport Premium, nailed to Junckers UnoBat 62+ undercarriage system specified for redevelopment of school.

As part of the £5m redevelopment of St Marylebone C of E School for girls in Central London, Junckers floating floors was the architect’s choice for the new 400m2 multi-purpose sports hall and two connecting 100m2 dance/drama studios.

The sports hall and dance/drama studios are part of a completely new underground facility, requiring detailed, highly specialist finishes and accessories. Gumuchdjian Architects specified Junckers pre-finished 22mm beech SylvaSport Premium, nailed to Junckers UnoBat 62+ undercarriage system. In the main sports hall, line marking was carried out using Junkers Isoline line marking paint and to ensure hard-wearing durability, an extra coat of Junkers High Performance Sports Seal completed the finish.

Through high-level research and development programmes, sports specialists Junckers have created four new undercarriage systems that ensure the perfect conditions to efficiently absorb shock but still exhibit high ball response and good levels of friction that are essential for high speed activity. Junckers simplify specifiers’ choices by combining player safety, cost-effectiveness and ease of installation and all sports floors conform to BS 7044, DIN 18032 and the new BS EN 14904 standard.
