The two-storey scheme includes sports and assembly hall, kitchen and refectory, admin spaces and general teaching spaces as well as specialist areas that include dance and drama, music, food technology, science laboratories, multi-materials laboratories, new resources for the local community and associated external hard and soft landscaping. The development is arranged around a covered gallery from which the six separate learning areas can be accessed.
Architects for the project are HNW who aim to create a building of civic stature that welcomes the community and significantly improves the learning experience of its students. The project was registered with the Considerate Contractor Scheme where the main contractor, Rydon, scored the maximum mark available on the first assessment.
