Stainless steel worktops installed at deluxe dwelling in Poole

Stainless steel worktops from GEC Anderson have been installed at a deluxe dwelling in the exclusive Branksome Park area of Poole, Dorset to provide a contemporary industrial feel to the professional kitchen and to complement the main domestic kitchen space.

The professional kitchen, just off the main kitchen has been built for serious cooks or as a preparation area for visiting chefs and provides high spec appliances, also in stainless steel.

The developers for this new build home, Clark Estates specified stainless steel for the kitchen worktops so as to provide clean lines and hard wearing surfaces. John Wischhusen of Clark Estates said, “We wanted to achieve the industrial look and feel of a pro kitchen and the specification of stainless steel worktops achieved this. Cleanliness was also important for this food preparation area and high grade stainless steel is hygienic by nature.”

The kitchen was designed and installed by local kitchen specialists, Kitchen Elegance. Designer, Jason Vickers from the company said, “The concept was to create a commercial kitchen style with a sleek look to balance the contemporary kitchen in the open plan lounge / dining area. We chose GEC Anderson because of the great quality of their products and workmanship.

For this project, GEC Anderson manufactured a bespoke worktop in high grade brushed satin stainless steel. The main worktop, formed as an L-shape and supplied in one piece was 1800 x 2600mm. The fact GEC Anderson were able to produce the stainless steel worktop in a single piece, i.e. without joins or seams, was a significant advantage, both from the viewpoint of practicality and aesthetics. The sink is seamlessly integrated, again avoiding awkward and unsightly joins.

Stainless steel, the long-time favourite worktop material for discerning designers and specifiers is ultimately practical in domestic or commercial kitchen environments. The fact that it will withstand sustained heavy use and even direct chopping and hot pans, yet will retain its clean and pristine appearance really make it an unrivalled worktop option.

Designed by Terence O’rourke Partnership, the house sits in a conservation area and the construction utilises the latest high-tech materials alongside large expanses of glass which maximise the views. Accommodation includes four bedrooms all with en suite facilities, a gym, indoor swimming pool and a climate controlled wine cellar.

Developers, Clark Estates have the house on the market for £4.95million.
