Langley take green roofing to the next level on an installation comprising of many different roof levels, on a set of buildings that show how green roofing installations can be done.
These two new blocks are part of an ongoing programme of social housing regeneration for Family Mosaic Housing Association. The existing two blocks on this site were demolished to make way for two new modern blocks with green roofing systems.
At the initial stage, Langley worked closely with Architects Calford Seaden, and was successful in designing an extensive green roof system for both blocks equating to 1,200m² in total.
The roof system consists of a Langley built up roof, recycled drainage layer, 40mm of substrate and pre-cultivated sedum.
Principal contractor United House Ltd appointed Langley contractor Stamford Contracts Ltd to install the roof system.
