F. Ball and Co. Ltd.’s Styccobond F46 pressure sensitive acrylic adhesive is used to install a wide range of PVC sheet, tiles and planks and is especially popular for the installation of luxury vinyl tiles (LVTs).

It is designed to install vinyl floorcoverings over Stopgap levelling compounds, concrete and sand/cement screeds, plywood, flooring grade chipboard and hardboard.

The pressure sensitive adhesive forms an instant grab upon contact, so, once positioned, vinyl tiles or planks won’t move about as contractors work. Importantly, the adhesive also offers an extended open time, which reduces the risk of late placement and/or time pressure on installers to rush the project. This is particularly beneficial where more complex designs or patterns are being created.

Styccobond F46 is specially formulated to reduce the incidence of trowel serrations showing through thin vinyl floorcoverings, which can be further aided by rolling the adhesive with a pre-wetted paint roller while still wet to flatten the ridges formed when applying the adhesive with a trowel.

The adhesive dries to a permanent tacky film and produces a high bond strength, which increases as it is trafficked.

As well as being solvent-free, Styccobond F46 has excellent plasticiser resistance.
