With a focus on sustainability, flexibility, and community well-being, Sugar House Island is home to a mix of offices, residences, and retail spaces.

The Bike Storage Company in collaboration with contractor, Vastint, created a tailored solution for secure bike storage for residents and visitors of Sugar House Island. The Bike Storage Company provided cutting-edge cycle enclosures, crafting a bespoke solution; they designed four-sided secure cycle enclosures to meet the unique needs of Sugar House Island. These units, constructed in blocks with shared dividing walls, offer secure storage attached to concrete slabs and walls.

The main aim of the Sugar House Island Project was to provide secure areas for residents to lock their bikes safely and store any additional items from their flats. The Bike Storage products are Secure by Design approved, met through enhanced security mesh, and replacement solid mild steel sheets, which provide increased security and a restricted internal view.

They created a SHS Mild Steel Frame through premium constriction methods, fully welded for superior security and rigidity. The lock and key system installed is a certified deadlock with a 5-pin Euro Cylinder Thumb-turn lock mounted in a gated housing for added security.

The proposed solution seamlessly aligned with Sugar House Island’s modern, sustainable living commitment. The secure and visually appealing cycle storage options blend effortlessly with the island’s unique character. The development was also essential to The Bike Storage Company, as it was located off Cycle Superhighway 2, a 4.3-mile cycle route connecting Stratford to Aldgate.

The collaboration between The Bike Storage Company and Vastint creates a well-connected, sustainable, and secure living and working environment at Sugar House Island.
