Sunsquare floorlight in Kew Gardens' Great Pagoda

Sunsquare floorlight in Kew Gardens' Great Pagoda

Sunsquare has installed a floorlight in Kew Garden’s 10-storey Great Pagoda, as part of its £50m restoration.

The Great Pagoda towers 50 metres over Kew Gardens and features 80 brightly coloured dragons that perch on every ridge of the building’s 10 octagonal storeys. Sunsquare designed and installed a floorlight to fill a hole originally cut into one of the pagoda’s landings during WW2 as the Royal Aircraft Establishment were testing smoke curtains used to camouflage low-flying aircraft.

The Floorlight can hold a concentrated load of up to 2.7Kn. Sunsquare’s Floorlight range includes a range of anti-slip finishes, plus multi-pane and Firerated versions for both domestic and commercial applications.
