Sustainability is crucial in Marley Alutec CPD

Marley Alutec has seen a surge in demand for its RIBA accredited Durable Eaves Solutions CPD session, which explores the sustainable credentials of aluminium rainwater systems. The 2017 Sustainability in Construction report found that 68% of contractors have experienced a surge in demand for sustainable construction solutions. Unsurprisingly, this has coincided with an impressive 155% increase in demand for Marley Alutec’s free CPD session on the subject.

Exploring in-depth industry issues, the hour-long Durable Eaves Solutions seminar provides delegates with updates about the essential sustainability, maintenance and financial benefits of aluminium rainwater systems. An infinitely recyclable material, 75% of all aluminium produced since 1888 is still in use today. Saving significant amounts of energy compared to producing new aluminium, the efficiency of the recycling process means that 96% of aluminium used within construction is recycled and reused.

Aluminium rainwater systems also required minimal maintenance, with statues and buildings such as the Empire State Building, which incorporate the building material, continuing to look pristine years later. This is because the metal produces a natural protective oxide coating, further enhancing the sustainable credentials of aluminium rain water systems by extending their lifespan. Offering up to 50 years of low maintenance and colour stable performance, aluminium systems provide a truly sustainable and recyclable solution.

Kevin Wallis, Marley Alutec Category Manager for Eaves - who regularly delivers the CPD sessions - said: “With more than 100 sessions hosted nationwide last year and having achieved that level already this year, we believe 2017 is going to break our record for CPD delivery".
