Roger Bullivant provided foundation and ground floor systems for holiday lodges for client Forest Holidays Ltd.

The systems were provided for a series of timber framed one and two storey lodges on various sites nationwide.

The system used had to be adaptable to accommodate varying site conditions.

The foundation solution had to be installed with total environmental consideration as all the sites were in areas of outstanding natural beauty. They were insulated and suspended above the forest floor.

The award winning SystemFirst Foundation Solution was specified to suit the requirements of the lodges.

The ground floor, foundation beam and support all act holistically to provide a lightweight and robust foundation. The foundation reduces use of natural resources and lowers the carbon footprint of the building.

Supports were installed using RB Mini Rigs due to access and weight restrictions.

The BBA approved system comprises of an assembly of galvanised steel support beams, floor channels and closed cell expanded polystyrene insulation connected with in-situ reinforced concrete.
