Hoppings Softwood products provided heavy-duty anti-slip decking, special anti-slip stair decking, special tactile decking in FSC Ekki, Siberian larch cladding / louvres and a laminated balustrade guard/capping rail for the T12 temporary bridge that was built over Stratford High Street.

The decking for T12 included anti-slip inserts that doubled up to provide visual contrast for the visually impaired, meeting CLM's accessibility requirements.

The Siberian larch cladding was supplied in C16 and C24 strength grades to BS EN 14081-1: 2005. The stronger C24 grade was used for the parapet areas of the bridge. It was also preservative pre-teated with new Tanalith Clear by Lonza to ensure a consistent colour remained during games time. This new treatment slows the effects of both greying and black spotting caused by ultra-violet light and surface mould growth respectively.

Hoppings also co-ordinated with Capita Symonds on engineering calculations for contractor BAM Nuttall.

Hoppings' timber products contributed to an aesthetically attractive and safe pedestrian footbridge that delivered access to vast numbers of visitors from the coach park to the London 2012 Olympic Stadium itself.

Contractor BAM Nuttall also won the contract to turn the Olympic Park into the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. This includes the reconfiguration of 30 Games-time bridges and underpasses to improve public access. In the case of the temporary structures, the material will be reused and repurposed by companies such as Community Wood Recycling.

There is a possible re-use of the larch cladding for a major temporary installation in a London Art School.
