Tactile Paving Studs

Tactile Paving Studs

By Design Sealants/Tass Tactile Paving Studs have recently been used by artist Linda Schwab at Leeds Gateway where over 12,000 stainless-steel and coloured resin paving studs are laid in drifting, organic patterns adding ground level interest to the existing concrete pavers. She subsequently won Leeds Architecture Award 2009 - Public Realm and Landscape for use of the studs, see picture 1.

The studs are providing a solution to Councils that are coming under increased pressure to replace existing stainless-steel tactile studs due to accidents/slipping occurring. The studs are being included in regeneration projects across the country, as well as being used with a silver-topped resin by the Corporation of London for highlighting outdoor eating areas of restaurants.
