Tarkett, a worldwide leader in innovative flooring and sports surface solutions, has now acquired the leading French wood floor manufacturer Parquets Marty. This acquisition is part of the Groups strategy to accelerate the development of its flooring business in Southern Europe, in particular its engineered wood single strip planks.
Today, Tarkett is the leading wood flooring manufacturer in Europe, with 4 production sites and more than 6 million square metres produced per annum. The acquisition of Parquets Marty will give Tarkett a production site in Cuzorn in south-western France, and a range of wood floor products suited to Southern Europe (France, Italy, Spain, Portugal and the rest of the Mediterranean region), in addition to its current wide range of products and materials.
As part of the acquisition, Tarkett plans to invest 13 million in improving industrial facilities at the Cuzorn site, and will use its industrial and commercial experience to benefit Parquets Marty in a number of ways. Firstly, in the commercial field, Parquets Marty will benefit from Tarketts sales network, which will expand its distribution and promote its range of products. Secondly in the industrial arena, with the refurbishment of the Cuzorn site and the sharing of best industrial practices, and finally, in terms of innovation, helping to accelerate the updating of its product range.
