Tarkett CPDs provide lessons in flooring

Tarkett’s extensive range of CPD seminars are designed to inform and educate on all aspects of flooring, with topics covering a variety of sectors, flooring types and industry issues such as safety and sustainability. Being RIBA approved, attending a Tarkett seminar will earn architects double CPD points, as well as keeping everyone up to date with all the latest developments from the world’s largest flooring manufacturer.

The latest addition to the range focuses on healthcare. ‘Specification of vinyl floorcovering in healthcare environments’ looks at all the implications to consider for this demanding sector, from ways to help improve the interior environment and assist healing to installation and maintenance. Education is another sector with varied and often conflicting flooring requirements and Tarkett’s Education seminar examines the principle factors and considerations, helping specifiers understand the specific needs of schools, colleges and universities.

Tarkett’s vast product portfolio includes solutions for the home. ‘Homes & Living Space - A guide to smooth and hard flooring specification’ focuses on social and private housing, student accommodation and retirement homes. The Code for Sustainable Homes and BRE Green Guide are of particular importance here and this seminar will also help specifiers understand the different criteria for refurbishment, underfloor heating, slip resistance, acoustics, durability and maintenance, as well as offering a guide to the best products for each area. A further seminar ‘Your Flooring Questions Answered: Hardwood’ offers guidance on specifying engineered wood flooring and includes information on manufacturing processes, different types of finish, lacquers and heat treatments, and environmental concerns.

‘Indoor Sports Surface Solutions - A guide to specification’ is aimed at those involved in specifying indoor sports flooring. Outlining relevant Standards, performance requirements (such as shock absorption, level of competition, age groups and safety), installation, maintenance and life cycle costs, this seminar also offers guidance on the correct specification for different types of use.

Two more seminars, ‘Slips, Trips & Falls’ and ‘Sustainability, Recycling and the Environment’ take a closer look at relevant legislation and examine current issues and problems in these critical areas, explaining the benefits of slip resistant floorcoverings and sustainable manufacturing practices.
