Tarkett Flooring Works a Treat for the Ice Cream Farm

Visitors to Cheshire Farm Ice Cream can now enjoy the selection of over 30 award-winning dairy ice creams and sorbets in comfort and safety, following a recent refurbishment of the Farm’s ice-cream parlour. Tarkett’s Safetred Spectrum safety tiles were specified for the flooring in order to provide safety underfoot with a hard-wearing, attractive finish.

Jonathan Fell, Director at the Ice Cream Farm explained: “We needed safety flooring for the ice cream parlour, but we also wanted to incorporate a design element. When the flooring contractor showed us Tarkett’s safety tiles, we were delighted as it provided the necessary safety element but still allowed us to create a pattern in the flooring, and the finished result looks brilliant.”

Flooring Solutions of Chester carried out the installation, laying around 200m2 of Tarkett’s Safetred Spectrum safety tiles throughout the ice cream parlour. Installation was quick and simple thanks to the tile format, which needs no welding and creates little installation waste. Individual tiles are lightweight and easy to cut to the desired shape, featuring a backing made from recycled materials that increases dimensional stability as well as minimising environmental impact.

Tarkett’s Safetred Spectrum safety tiles are a heavy-duty vinyl flooring that combines superior slip resistance and ease of maintenance with attractive design, available in a range of 9 classic colours. The tile format allows colours to be mixed and matched more easily than sheet flooring, particularly for smaller areas, offering greater design freedom. As with all of Tarkett’s Safetred ranges, the new tiles feature the Tarkett Safety Clean PUR surface protection, providing improved stain resistance and reducing the amount of water, energy and detergents needed for cleaning by up to 50%. With an R10 slip resistance rating, tiles are manufactured to EN13845 ensuring slip performance is sustained throughout the product’s life.

Manufactured at Tarkett’s plant in Lenham, Kent, the new Safetred Spectrum tiles are readily available through leading flooring distributors.
