Tarkett helps Scott Young Research keep the floor clean

Scott Young Research (SYR) is a leading manufacturer of cleaning equipment, supplying to many of the major fast food chains around the world, including Burger King and KFC. When looking for a high-quality flooring on which to demonstrate their equipment to potential customers, they opted for an array of Tarkett products.

Following the relocation of SYR’s production facilities, the former mezzanine production area was completely refurbished to create a brand new visitor centre incorporating a new showroom, demonstration area and lecture theatre. For the critical demonstration area, over 170m2 of Tarkett flooring was installed. The products used included several options from the high performance iQ range and Safetred slip resistant ranges, as well as Eclipse, Marleyflor Plus, and Veneto XF linoleum.

Scott Young was delighted with the installation: “The new demonstration area has been a great success already, and we’re using it to demonstrate to an extensive client base the ease with which Tarkett products can be maintained with our equipment. We are extremely pleased with the results of this project and are now looking to set up a similar centre in the US.”

Tarkett’s iQ range is one of the best all-round floorcoverings on the market in terms of durability, design, ease of cleaning and overall lifecycle costs. The unique surface restoration properties of the iQ range means it requires no wax or polish for life as simple dry buffing is sufficient to restore the original appearance and properties. iQ is also good for the environment, offering up to 30% maintenance cost savings alongside a 50% reduction in consumption of energy, water and chemicals needed for cleaning.

Tarkett’s Safetred safety floorings are well suited to the fast-food industry, particularly in food preparation areas where a higher degree of safety underfoot is required. All of the Safetred ranges feature an R10 slip-resistance rating and provide sustainable slip resistance throughout the life of the flooring. As with the iQ range, maintenance costs are kept to a minimum thanks to the unique Safety Clean PUR reinforcement.

Eclipse and Marleyflor Plus are two economical flooring solutions that offer excellent performance characteristics for heavy-duty areas. They also feature a PUR surface protection to minimise scuffing and stains as well as reducing maintenance.
