Why Casambi?

Working with Casambi has been inspirational. The Casambi eco-system is the largest available and it’s growing every day. Metway MCC range is recognised as one of the leading lighting control modules for power distribution, so it made perfect sense to utilise the 125mA onboard PSU withing the MDCC and pair it with Salvador.

How easy is Casambi?

Casambi is a completely wireless system, in which luminaires and other devices communicate directly with each other. Metway has “plug & Play” prefabricated wires, so a hybrid system is an option or with Casambi enabled luminaires the network is completely wireless. To create a Casambi installation, all you need to do is specify Casambi Ready luminaires. That’s it. No hassle, no back-and-forth with manufacturers, no worrying about which modules can and can’t be connected to which others.

What are the benefits of Casambi?

Simply put it’s a network you can upscale. Unlike other competitive wireless networks, where you must stay within the bounds of their devices, Casambi has over 2000 different products from many manufacturers all of which are available on the network you have created. Closed loop networks are yesterday’s lighting control; open protocol networks are tomorrow.

Casambi creates a self-organising and self-healing mesh network of luminaires and control devices. Intelligence is distributed across the network – meaning that if something breaks or changes, the rest of the system just adapts and carries on. It’s robust by design.

Who Commissions the system when installed?

Metway can arrange commissioning via their network of engineers. Downloading the APP free is available as an option for self-managing room settings if that is required.

How versatile is Casambi?

At Metway we design lighting controls for small scale shops to open plan commercial offices and now with Casambi we have options other than standard wired solutions. Casambi offer the ability to hybrid the project or just wireless.
