School Objective: The Hamble School required a versatile, weather-protected outdoor area that could be used throughout the year for lessons, breaktimes and lunchtimes. The aim was to maximise the usability of outdoor space while providing shelter from the elements, creating a comfortable environment for both learning and social activities. The solution needed to be durable, lowmaintenance and seamlessly integrate into the existing school setting.

NBB Outdoors’ Solution: NBB Outdoors supplied and installed a bespoke Branksome Shelter, measuring 20,000mm in length and 5,600mm in depth. The structure was sub-surfaced and engineered with enhanced structural components, including upgraded beams, rafters and posts to ensure long-term strength and stability. Finished in Blue RAL 5002 with Triplex coating for a 25-year guarantee, the shelter also incorporated guttering to manage rainwater effectively. Installation was carried out efficiently on site, with full consideration given to access, safety and school working requirements.

Complete Outdoor Solution: In addition to the shelter installation, the school took advantage of NBB Outdoors’ extensive product range to fully furnish the space. Durable seating and tables made from 100% recycled plastic were installed, providing a sustainable, low-maintenance solution for daily use. The area was further enhanced with ‘Simpler Recycling’ compliant litter bins from the facilities management range, helping to maintain a clean and organised environment. By sourcing everything from one supplier, the school was able to upgrade its outdoor space quickly, efficiently and with complete consistency.
