The Future Home @ Energy House 2.0 project is a ground-breaking research collaboration between Bellway Homes and The University of Salford.
This experimental new zero-carbon-ready property, built by Bellway inside the university’s unique Energy House 2.0 climate chamber, celebrated its first anniversary this month – and Stormking is proud to have played a role.
The Future Home features their Clearlight Perspex Door Canopy on its external façade. Manufactured here in the UK under ISO 9001 and 14001 systems, our Clearlight door canopy is produced off-site and delivered flat packed as a complete unit ready to install. The sustainable way in which it is manufactured and delivered to site, together with its durability, ease of maintenance and ease of installation, made the Clearlight canopy the ideal choice for the Future Home.
This first anniversary also coincides with the release of the project’s first research data, which indicate that the Future Homes Standard – set to be the new Building Regulations for new UK homes – can be delivered by 2025, providing the supply chain can keep pace and the skills are readily available.
Whilst Stormking played only a small part in this pioneering project, they are proud of their involvement and the contribution, and will continue to support the building industry as it strives towards a more sustainable and zero-carbon future!
