The New Underfloor Generation is called Katherm QX

Anyone wanting to design space cost-effectively and in a convenient modular manner will now opt for the new Katherm QX: it provides high heat outputs, the lowest sound data and an extensive customised range.

Contractors developing buildings with modern heating system at low temperature ranges will particularly enjoy great benefits: they will fully exploit the highperformance of this new extremely low-sound development.

All components optimised

Katherm QX stands for the German word for cross-flow fan convection with compact EC motors whose components are perfectly in tune with each other. Extensive development was carried out in advance in the Kampmann Research & Development Centre. The series of measurements generated there influenced the design of the high-performance convector. The result is that the parallel cross-flow fan now floods air evenly through the entire length of the convector. Warm air flows up in front of the windows rolling the air to supply heat to the whole room.

Reduced energy consumption - whisper-quiet sounds

The huge amount of time and money dedicated to research will pay off many times over for specialist designers and their customers. The finely tuned interplay of all components will provide their buildings with high heat outputs and significantly reduced energy costs. Designers will significantly reduce the energy consumption and sound emissions for their projects in this way. Even at full speed, the whisperquiet sound pressure level for users is only 31 dB(A).

Space-saving values and flexible dimensions

The true strengths of the QX are their excellent space-saving values and simple modular design. Consultants' offices will always create the right solution thanks to the three extremely narrow duct widths (175, 200 and 225 mm) and twelve standard lengths (900 to 3,100 mm). The ducts can be extended in 200 mm sections and gaps are bridged with small empty ducts. Mitred corners are also standard components in the range. The roll-up or linear grilles on top provide an apparently continuous strip. They are available in six different colours in aluminium or alternatively in stainless steel. This selection provides unprecedented creative freedom for all project participants.

Accessories integrated into the ducts

The extensive range of accessories makes installation very simple. A power supply for the 24 Volt EC fan is pre-installed in the unit. There is also space for valves, actuators and return-flow fittings. A fitted cover plate ensures that these accessory components are not visible and protects them against dust and dirt at the same time. Sound-insulated, infinitely adjustable height adjustment feet are a standard feature. Designers can opt to use Katherm QX for any type of floor. The system is suitable for conventional screed floors as well as for raised and false floors thanks to its 112 mm duct height.

Controller options

There are different options in terms of control technology. A 0 - 10 V control input is included as standard as a control interface to a building control system provided by the customer. The system can also be controlled using an easy-to-use room thermostat. Another alternative is to use KaControl components that provide all the benefits of energy-efficient room automation.
