Opened by Queen Victoria in 1871, The Royal Albert Hall is one of London’s most illustrious and treasured performance venues. With a history of world class musical and theatrical acts, the venue holds over 350 performances each year as well as exhibitions, public meetings and award ceremonies.

The vivid exterior of the Hall was built using approximately 6 million red bricks and a number of terracotta panels, with inspiration derived from architecture of the Italian Renaissance the designers created a distinctive elliptical dome. The interior furnishings compliment the world famous exterior with warm red and terracotta shades throughout, including the recent refurbishment of the hall’s floorcovering. nora® rubber floorcoverings were a sound choice for the Grade I listed building in South Kensington.

Approximately 700m2 of norament® luxor were installed in the iconic venue to provide a resilient floorcovering, colour matched to the original design concept of natural earthy shades. This was achieved using the unrivalled capabilities of the nora® design department where a sample of the previous floorcovering was perfectly colour matched in the norament® luxor range. norament® luxor is a tiled product which is ideally suited to such heavily trafficked areas as the Royal

Albert Hall, where safety is paramount and a sympathetic design is essential to maintaining the existing 19th century character of the building. nora® floorcoverings are extremely easy to clean and maintain, with no need for expensive and time consuming coatings throughout the long life of the product. Excellent footfall sound absorption is an additional beneficial characteristic of all nora® products and comes as standard.
