Approximately 80,000 Cembrit Jutland A+ rated slates have been employed on a new housing development near the picturesque town of Bideford, North Devon. The Salterns, developed by Cavanna homes, consists of a combination of two, three and four bedroom houses surrounded by beautiful countryside and a variety of wildlife.
The distinctive new development of quality homes is located near the estuary of the River Torridge and features stunning panoramic views of the countryside and valley below. The homes were built to this highest of specification and include a 10 year NHBC Buildmark Warranty which indicates all materials, including the Jutland slates, are manufactured to a high standard. The slates were installed by Kilbride Roofing of Tiverton and contribute to ensuring the contemporary home design blends in with the surrounding natural beauty.
Kieron Kilbride, Managing Director of Kilbride who worked on the project, added "Cembrits Jutland fibre cement slates were remarkably easy to handle and install. They are pre-holed, practical to use, and the perfect economical alternative to natural slate for this type of project. Im very happy with results and I plan to use Jutland again soon. Manufactured using Portland cement and to the highest European standard, Jutland is an attractive flat, square edged fibre cement slate that is lightweight, durable and pre-holed, and suitable for all types of projects. Available in 500mm x 250mm (20" x 10") typical of the most common natural slate size and in a range of greys and browns, Jutland is the most versatile fibre cement slate brand in the UK. The formulation of superior blended synthetic and cellulose fibres are pigmented during production and are fully compressed. Jutland are finished with a high quality, semi-matt acrylic coloured coating to the top face and edges and a tinted, high performance binder to the back face.
An EPD (Environmental Product Decleration) issued by the IBU is available on request covering all Cembrits fibre cement slate brands.
