Client: The Stable Company
Type of works: supply of Cembrit's bitumen shingles in a range of colours.
Three newly built equestrian buildings have benefited from having Cembrits bitumen roofing shingles installed to create an attractive and long lasting finish. Cembrit supplied the shingles to the Stable Company, a York-based company who designs, manufactures and installs high quality, timber frame buildings.
One of the companys specialist areas is equestrian buildings, a community they have been serving for over three decades. The three buildings, located in Milton Keynes, Chalfont St Giles and Ripon are all bespoke designs from the companys tailor-made range and have been designed to meet the specific needs of each client. The high quality finish of each project demonstrates the companys attention to detail and build quality. The Cembrit bitumen shingles were supplied in Two Tone Brown (Chalfont St Giles), Forest Green (Ripon), and Two Tone Black (Milton Keynes). Recommended by the Stable Companys roofing supplier David Tompkins, a total of 250 3m2 bundles of shingles were supplied for the projects.
David recommended Cembrit as he has been using their shingles for a number of years, says Gareth Barber of the Stable Company. We fitted them ourselves and found they were great to work with and really finish off the buildings in an effective way; they combine attractiveness and functionality in a cost-effective package.
Cembrit bitumen shingles are an easy to fit roofcovering that is lightweight and inexpensive. Cembrit shingles are ideal for stables, chalets, sheds, outhouses and mobile homes - as well as conventional dwellings. The shingles offer enhanced performance and are available in bold shades to suit modern architectural styles, as well as in more natural hues to complement more traditional style buildings. The five standard colours are Green, Black, Brown, Red and Grey, with other solid, natural or laminate effects available to special order.
Cembrit offers a wide range of natural and man-made roofing slate, shingles, cladding panels, and corrugated sheet. Quality levels at group factories are rigorously maintained to high standards with many products manufactured under the control of ISO 9001 and British Board of Agrément. Cembrit UK is a member of Cembrit Holding A/S (formerly the Dansk Eternit Holding A/S) of Denmark, one of Europes major building material producers of fibre reinforced cement products for the roofing and cladding industry. The ultimate parent company FL Smith recently celebrated its 125 year anniversary.
