The University of Birmingham

Client: Birmingham University
Type of works: supply of Equinox® cubicles, Centurion™ washrooms and IPS Evolve® pre-plumbed units.

The origins of The University of Birmingham date back to 1825 when it started life as a Medical School. The leafy 250 acre campus you see today was founded as a University back in 1900.

Medical and scientific research has played a major part in the success of the University which has contributed to global scientific advancement including the first synthesis of vitamin C, the development of the first pacemaker and the design and manufacture of the X-ray telescope for the 1985 Space Shuttle Challenger.

Today, with over 30,000 students, Birmingham University remains a popular choice with both undergraduate and postgraduate students and takes pride in providing impeccable facilities throughout the University. Over the past three years, Armitage Venesta has proven their ability to provide the right washrooms solution for the specific demands of each environment, all within one campus.

Stylish, Equinox® cubicles with streamline, polished pilasters that provide lasting, modern styling was used in the prestigious Aston Webb building. Centurion™, a robust washroom system featuring aluminium extrusions that delivers strength without compromising on aesthetics, was used in the busy Franklin building.

Armitage Venesta’s pre-plumbed system, IPS Evolve®, with its factory-fitted sanitaryware, was used across the campus to provide easy clean surfaces that promote hygiene and provide easy access for ongoing maintenance.
