TLX Gold is finalist at BRE’s INSITE 11

TLX Gold has been chosen as a finalist and awarded a place in the Innovation Zone at INSITE 11, part of the Modern Built Environment KTN programme, to showcase exemplary technologies which have the potential to transform the UK’s current built environment.

The product, which achieved ETA (European Technical Approval) earlier this year, is the world’s only combined breather membrane and multi-foil insulation. It was selected by a panel of industry experts based on its potential to bring a positive impact to the challenge of retrofit.

TLX Gold is a hybrid structure of reflective coated cellulose film, polyester wadding, metallised nonwovens and a roofing underlay that reduces heat loss and air leakage through the building fabric whilst enabling a building to breathe. The product can be installed as a single layer over existing insulation and delivers insulation improvements to buildings where previous upgrades were impractical.

At this year’s INSITE 11 Rethink Refurbishment event (4th and 5th October) at BRE, Watford, visitors will be invited to vote for their preferred innovation. For those unable to attend it is also possible to vote on line at www.surveymonkey.com/s/insite11

The winner will be announced in the Innovation Zone on 5th October by interior designer and TV personality Oliver Heath. They will receive a year’s complimentary product placement on the BRE Innovation Park.

The two-day event includes an exhibition of more than 32 refurbishment innovations that are looking to transform the retrofit arena. In addition the BRE has arranged a conference programme that will look at how we revitalise our buildings and communities, create spaces that are great to live in and conducive to long term occupant wellbeing.

Mark Seddon, sales director at Web Dynamics said: “This is another great recognition of the benefits multi-foils are bringing to the built environment. TLX Gold has already been recognised by the Carbon Trust for its innovative status and we hope others will see the very clear benefits it can bring to the building refurbishment environment”.

Further information about the event can be gained by visiting www.insite11.com

Manufactured in the UK, the TLX range of multi-foil insulation has achieved LABC Registered Details status and is fast and simple to install. Web Dynamics’ technical team will provide advice on which insulation construction to use. The company offers U-value and condensation risk calculations and can answer queries concerning specification or installation of any of the TLX range.
