Tobermore Paving used in Specifi Project of the Year

Tobermore paving was the hard landscaping of choice for the winner of the ‘Project of the Year’ at the Specifi Awards in Newcastle.

UK based architecture practice Medical Architecture picked up the award for their work on the Jean Bishop Integrated Care Centre in Hull.

The pioneering Jean Bishop Integrated Care Centre, which opened summer 2018, is the first of a new class of National Health Service facilities designed to cater for the needs of an increasingly elderly population without the recourse to hospital admission.

When considering hard landscaping, Tobermore presented a variety of product offerings, of which Medical Architecture was particularly impressed with Fusion paving, modular block paving infused with sparkling granite aggregates. The products were installed in a random colour laying pattern, creating a stylish landscape for paths and communal areas.

Paul Yeomans Director at Medical Architecture said: “We were really pleased with Tobermore’s hard landscaping. As in most healthcare projects the team managed to spend the budget wisely and create a real sense of arrival in front of the building.”
