Client: Tonic
Type of works: supply of two platform lifts, from Stannah's access lift range.

Stannah have installed two platform lifts in Tonic in Nottingham. The lifts are part of Stannah’s range of access lifts, specifically designed for use by people with impaired mobility. Installation of the platform lifts helps the venue comply with the DDA and Part M.

The venue holds approximately 400 people on the two dining floors and 60 in the deli. The vertical platform lifts have provided the ideal solution to access in this multi-service venue.

The New York style deli on street level catches the morning and lunch time passers by with its selection of fresh baked pastries, gourmet sandwiches, soups and salads to eat in or take away. In the evenings the deli transforms into a cocktail bar, extending the venue’s repertoire of drinks.

The bar on the mezzanine level delivers the ideal social atmosphere for a relaxed bar meal and drink, ideal for a working lunch, the after work wind down or an evening of entertaining.

The first floor restaurant offers impressive surroundings for fine dining. Customers can have a drink in the small exclusive bar area before settling down for the evening at the table with good food and wine.

The first of the two Stannah Midilifts provides access to the bar area on the mezzanine level from the deli below. The open car and glass shaft creates the feeling of space whilst using the lift and the half glass door on the upper level immediately includes the lift user in the relaxed, social environment.

The second Stannah Midilift provides travel to and from the bar to the restaurant on the first floor. The platform moves within an enclosed structure through the floor, stopping at full-length glass panelled doors opening out to the seated areas. The soft neutral finish on both lifts blends into the décor on each level. The Midilifts installed in Tonic are great illustrations of the different choice of aesthetic and specification options available to specifiers.

Stannah has also installed a Microlift (dumbwaiter) in the bustling first floor kitchen - the invaluable service lift moves orders quickly and efficiently to the lower bar on the mezzanine level.
