Topseal Direct Lay top of the class at Driffield High

Topseal Direct Lay top of the class at Driffield High

Topseal Direct Lay has been specified as a replacement roof covering for three buildings at Driffield High School in Driffield, East Yorkshire.

The school had experienced leakage to flat roofs on the school’s equipment storeroom, boiler house and maintenance building, as well as the Sixth Form building.

The three roofs ranged from 25m2 to 120m2 in size.

Topseal Direct Lay, a liquid-applied GRP overlay system, was specified after initial roof inspections as it is a robust solution that is quick and convenient to fit and can be installed without the inconvenience of removing the existing flat roof structure.

This means that all three buildings could remain fully functional whilst the work was being carried out by a Topseal Approved installer, which is the perfect solution for a busy high school such as Driffield High School.

At the same time that Topseal Direct Lay was installed for the Sixth Form building, the Topseal installer also upgraded its thermal performance with a layer of insulation to improve the building’s energy efficiency.

The school will benefit from a 20 year material and workmanship guarantee from Topseal on all three roofs.

Allan Frizzell, Technical Manager at Topseal, said: “Our new Topseal Direct Lay will provide a long term ultra-low maintenance solution for Driffield High School. We are experiencing strong demand from local authorities who are looking for a permanent, easy to install flat roof solution for both small and large buildings.”

Driffield High School was so impressed with its replacement flat roofs that it invited Topseal to present to East Riding of Yorkshire Council about the new replacement flat roofing system.

Since then Topseal has received a number of further orders for Topseal Direct Lay from other schools and council buildings in the area.

Topseal Direct Lay is BBA approved and is suitable for both new and refurbished flat roofs.
