Students, staff and visitors are welcomed into Tor View Specialist Learning Community via a smart new walkway and entrance canopy.
The canopy installation is part of an upgrade to the school’s entrance area.
Working for contractor Landscape Engineering, Broxap was commissioned to come up with a 32.6-metre canopy framing the school’s reception and travelling along the length of the building.
The final canopy design is based on the Newcastle shelter with a monopitch roof along the walkway, and a duopitch roof feature to enhance the entrance.
With clear polycarbonate cladding, the galvanised steel frame of the shelter was powder coated Anthracite Grey to match Tor View’s building.
Improvements to the school ground’s include a new visitor parking and unloading area, and road markings to enhance safety for students at the school for four-19-year-olds.
The addition of a walkway and entrance canopy clearly marks out the school’s entrance to visitors and provides sheltered waiting areas
