Morrisons, the UKs fourth supermarket, recently opened a new store in Stowmarket. Ensuring easy access for trolley-laden customers, TORMAX automatic sliding doors have been installed to create an efficient entry and exit system. Utilising TORMAX iMotion technology, the door operators deliver reliable performance under busy conditions whilst offering a sustainable solution by significantly reducing heating bills through effective heat retention. As an additional tick in the green box, iMotion operators are almost entirely manufactured using recyclable material.
Dotcom Glazing Ltd were responsible for the glass entrance to the store and specified TORMAX to install three sets of bi-parting automatic doors, with two extending telescopically to fit within available opening width. The telescopic option allows us to fit sliding doors into a space that otherwise would be too small. Capable of giving a clear opening width of up to 3800mm and contained in an exceptionally slim profile, the telescopic iMotion 2301 offers a powerful solution suitable for a wide variety of locations.
The intentionally high torque synchronous iMotion motors combine sophisticated sensors with LIN bus technology to deliver a ground-breaking control system. An intelligent micro-processor permanently monitors factors such as high winds or a build up of dirt which may otherwise impair door movement, automatically making necessary alterations or signalling an alert. Further minimising maintenance and servicing the motors actually have near-indefinite life expectancy being both gearless and brushless and so having no parts that can wear out. As with all TORMAX systems, iMotion operators are fully compliant with current RoHS standards and are tested for reliability well beyond current industry requirements as well as meeting current DDA regulations.
