Mumford & Wood provided the ideal solution for a traditional home renovation in Fulham.
When purchased by the current owners, this property consisted of three dark and dingy flats. The owners wished to convert the property back to a single dwelling and back to its original glory.
Their architect planned to preserve the octagonal bay windows below the turret, whilst resizing and lining up the very uneven run of windows at the rear of the house.
When specifying windows the owners looked for a solution that would be sympathetic to the existing house and the surrounding properties whilst still being usable and practical all year round.
Mumford & Wood were able to provide a traditional design made with a light wood as well as a leaded door and windows for the front porch.
Removing the original windows cause some structural problems with the property, however Mumford & Wood were able to help overcome this issue by working with builders to design structural supports with fireproofed steel rods in the bay windows to hold up the roof.
The owners commented, “Overall the house is transformed, with natural light flooding in on all three floors, with fresh air at will.
“The planners are happy that the old window designs have been matched whilst we are delighted to have light and working windows.”
