UNION, part of ASSA ABLOY Security Solutions, a division of ASSA ABLOY, has demonstrated its capabilities and knowledge in higher education, having completed a number of prominent projects in the sector.
With products specified in colleges and universities across the UK, UNION has established a reputation in the education sector through the volume and quality of the projects it has been specified on over the last 12 months.
The University of Birmingham, for whom UNION is a specified and approved brand for security, were provided with a master-keyed suite in a number of buildings, for both academic and residential applications.
Maintaining a long-standing relationship with the UKs first redbrick university, UNION has provided hardware for new builds, upgraded out-of-date systems and extended existing suites.
Over 150 cylinders were supplied there as part of a keyULTRA masterkey system, in both the prestigious M&M building and the ERI building; a system that has benefitted other higher education facilities, such as the halls of residence at The University of Manchester, where almost 400 cylinders were installed.
UNION products have also been incorporated into a newly-built student accommodation development at Oxford Brookes University, using ASSA ABLOY DC500A door closers, as well as being installed imminently within three new building projects at the University of Nottingham.
Tina Hughan, Head of Marketing for ASSA ABLOY UK, said: UNION is part of a long heritage of British manufacturing. Were proud to have supplied product, ranging from door closers to masterkey systems, for so many of the countrys top higher education facilities.
The experience we have gained in educational projects, means that we are well placed to advise on and supply products for learning facilities, where staff and student safety is a priority, along with the protection of costly equipment or sensitive data. Plus, having worked extensively with education authorities, UNION has proved its ability to work within strict budgets and time frames, and has left us with a greater understanding of the security and legislation affecting the sector.
