Client: University Hospital of North Staffordshire
Contractor: SCC Developments
Type of works: supply of ready plumbed units from Bushboard's healthcare range.
Bushboard Washroom Systems healthcare ready plumbed units have recently been installed in the Clinical Education Centre (CEC) at the University Hospital of North Staffordshire in Stoke on Trent.
The 16 week refurbishment was completed two weeks ahead of schedule by local contractors SCC Developments, a Bushboard Preferred Installer. Mark Newman, SCCs Commercial Director commented: The Bushboard RPM units definitely helped us to complete the project early, they offer real advantages over traditional timber frame and panelling systems particularly because the RPM units are delivered ready to install and are very simple to fit.
Bushboards RPM units are HTM 64 and HTM 68 compliant and combine a dedicated range of healthcare sanitaryware and brassware fitted to panels and pre-assembled onto a specially designed pre-built rigid aluminium frame.
In all, 12 boxed out units have been installed. They are ideal for new build or refurbishment projects standing proud of the wall and neatly concealing services supplied through the wall, floor or ceiling, hiding unsightly pipework. Boxes are manufactured exclusively from solid-grade laminate which is impervious to water and impact resistant - ideal for the demands of busy healthcare environments. Satin anodised extrusions help protect vulnerable corners and deliver a flush overall finish to units minimising dirt traps where bacteria may multiply.
With just 8 fixings brackets per box they are extremely quick to install and are also available with hinged and lockable access panels making on-going routine maintenance faster and easier.
A combination of full height units to conceal existing pipework and half height units were specified for the Clinical Education Centre which is due to be opened in May.
