Client: University of Leeds
Type of works: supply and installation of a lift
The university wanted a lift that would provide wheelchair access from outside of the building travelling over seven steps. Due to the situation of the building, in the centre of the city, it was felt that the lift could be subject to vandalism and so the positioning of the drive mechanism was important.
Access Lift Consultants provided a lift manufactured in stainless steel which not only ensures a very long life no matter what the weather, but also retains its appearance for many years.
By extending the guide rails through the side of the door frame the firm were able to site the drive mechanism inside the building thereby ensuring that it would be completely safe outside of business hours.
