At Broxap they work with their regeneration and development clients to design street furniture which realises the aims of their masterplan.
Northstowe, a new neighbourhood in Cambridgeshire, is being developed as part of the Healthy New Towns programme led by NHS England, Homes England and other providers.
It is one of 10 demonstrator sites exploring how to create healthier and connected communities with integrated, high-quality services.
As well as new homes, Northstowe features streetscapes designed to promote wellbeing.
These include ‘sociable streets’ where neighbours can meet and children can play, with people taking priority over cars.
They worked with the client, regeneration company Urban Splash, to create a series of seating and outdoor dining furniture options for some of the residential areas.
The resulting range of Meet and Greet seating incorporates inclusive design features as well as modern picnic tables located in shared outdoor living spaces.
The order included two FSC-certified timber benches to match a timber slatted top outdoor table for working, dining or enjoying a catch-up with friends.
Three Gorton concrete cube seats in a light grey matt finish provide occasional seating and three Florence timber seats offer backrests and armrests for comfort and accessibility.
