VELUX Modular Skylights have been installed at the De Assenburg shopping mall in The Netherlands, as part of a major renovation project. The original shopping centre was the result of numerous expansions and conversion projects. In the words of project leader Daniel Didden of Mulleners + Mulleners Architects, the interior revealed a somewhat “twisted and oppressive” layout to the visitor, discouraging anything but the quickest of shopping sprees".

90 VELUX Modular Skylights measuring 1000x1800 and 900x1800 cm were used to create a spacious and airy shopping avenue. Shop owner Wim Kersten declared "It sometimes used to get so stuffy in here during the day, but now when needed, the place can allow fresh air. I have only one word to describe the renovation: Fantastic.”
