Venetian Blinds ideal for Bonhams Salesroom

Venetian Blinds ideal for Bonhams Salesroom

Aluminium Venetian blinds have been specified for The Bonhams Auctioneers salesroom. Bonhams Auctioneers were established in 1793 and have grown to be one of the worlds biggest and most influential in their field. They outgrew their old Oxford salerooms and moved nearby to Shipton-on-Cherwell, an ex-Mercedes showroom that would allow them space for fine art, books and classic motor car sales.

The salerooms face South and had the problem of becoming far too hot in Summer, so Bonhams approached Grand Design Blinds for a stylish, long-lasting and effective solution. Bonhams chose slim 25mm-wide aluminium venetian blinds in unusually-large sizes, to fit a single blind on each shop window, in a silver/grey colour to match the company branding.

Furthermore, the book department had shelving secured around the windows, with rare and ancient books being exposed to direct sunlight. The Venetians have been installed to fit in neatly behind the bookshelves. Consequently, it is still possible to open the large doors to allow cars, for example, to be moved into the building prior to viewing on auction days and the result has been very effective.
