GDL was chosen to supply Grilles, Louvres and Diffusers throughout the Gainsborough Hotel and spa areas for both supply and extract ventilation.

Project details
The Bath-based Gainsborough is the only hotel in Britain to have its own natural thermal spa complete with a bath house, four-storey glass atrium, saunas, steam rooms, an ice chamber, treatment rooms and fitness centre. A borehole sinking 110m in the ground below the Gainsborough Hotel supplies the private spa and bedrooms with clear geothermally heated water at 49ºc, the water is believed to have medicinal qualities.

Project overview
The hotel has been formed from three existing buildings a Georgian, Elizabethan and Victorian building, two of which are listed buildings. The buildings, former hospitals and college classrooms have been derelict for almost a decade. The newly completed hotel also has 99 bedrooms, a restaurant, private dining room and lobby lounge. GDL supplied the Grilles, Louvres and Diffusers throughout the hotel and spa areas for both supply and extract ventilation.
