Project Overview
Villa Quartara is a prestigious residential property located within the historic hillside district of Genoa, Italy. The external renovation brief required a premium surfacing solution capable of delivering timeless visual appeal while meeting modern performance standards for durability, permeability, and longevity.
To achieve this, an Italian resin bound marble paving system was selected, combining natural stone beauty with advanced resin technology.
The project was delivered in partnership with HiSkin SLR, SureSet’s Italian Global Partner, and installed by the SureSet Global Legacy Installers.
Material Selection: 6mm Millefiori Marble
The chosen surface comprised 6mm Millefiori Italian marble aggregates, installed at an 18mm system depth across approximately 510 square metres.
Millefiori is renowned for its distinctive blend of warm and neutral tones, offering:
• Natural marble colour variation
• Decorative stone texture
• Seamless contemporary appearance
• Suitability for luxury residential paving
When combined with a high-performance resin binder, the system delivers both visual sophistication and long-term structural integrity.
Why Resin Bound Marble Was Selected
Resin bound marble paving was specified for several key reasons:
• Permeable surface, supporting effective water drainage
• Smooth, seamless finish with no loose stone
• Low maintenance requirements
• UV-stable performance, suitable for Mediterranean climates
• Slip-resistant properties for residential exteriors
These characteristics make resin bound systems particularly suitable for driveways, pathways, terraces, and landscaped courtyard spaces.
Installation & Technical Execution
The installation was completed by the SureSet Global Legacy Installers, specialists in large-scale decorative resin surfacing.
The system was applied using controlled mixing and installation techniques to ensure:
• Uniform aggregate distribution
• Consistent depth tolerance across all areas
• Clean edging and detailing
• Long-term surface stability
The completed finish provides a continuous stone appearance that enhances the architectural setting of the villa.
Finished Result
The completed resin bound marble paving delivers a refined exterior environment that complements the villa’s traditional Italian architecture while introducing contemporary material performance.
The Millefiori blend creates warmth, movement, and visual depth — transforming outdoor circulation areas into a cohesive design feature rather than a purely functional surface.
