Vincent Timber makes the grade at MidKent College

Over 4,000m2 of Vincent Timber’s Sivalbp pre-weathered cladding is set to be installed at the on-going redevelopment of MidKent College – as part of the multimillion redevelopment and expansion of its Maidstone Campus.

Designed by CC Studio Architects, Ashford and built by main contractor ISG, the project includes the internal and external refurbishment of a former University for the Creative Arts building. The two phase project, expected to be complete by July 2015, follows recent investment of more than £100 million by the Further and Higher Education College in its core property infrastructure.

Following the successful supply and installation of Sivalbp on the project’s first phase in 2013, Vincent Timber once again met the cladding challenge. Installed in a standard profile Solea 27f x 125 face cover and a bespoke Elegie 24f x 125 face cover, Sivalbp was specified in preweathered grey to provide a more natural and homogenous aesthetic.

An increasingly popular specification at façade projects, Sivalbp is ideal for when an architect or designer wishes to combine a pleasing aesthetic with a finish that improves with the natural weathering process.

With the second phase of the project set to commence in late 2014, the specification of Vincent Timber’s Sivalbp cladding will ensure the new-look college building benefits from a sustainable, aesthetically pleasing and high performance product that will stand the test of time.
